Loic Le Meur in the white House.

I was just reading my tweets before going to bed… and I clicked on this :

This came like a shock to me. A positive shock I mean. From a web entrepreneur to a political pusher and then to being a part of the French delegation at the white house. I think it’s a great achievement.
No big deal though, but I still respect a lot the guy even though I never had the chance to meet him (too bad leweb3 is too expensive for students). I think that some French people instead of whining about him should actually take example on him. Through his blog and his media appearance he has achieved a great popularity.
But more that this niche and contestable popularity he succeed to bring the entrepreneurial spirit to some of his readers (at least to me and some others students I met). By listening to his podcast and reading his blog since a bit less than 3 years, I’ve of course learned a lot about internet and web 2.0… but also about successful entrepreneurs in France and in Europe.
Most of the people don’t know that some are in fact succeeding. It’s good to see that it is possible. I am 21, still a student but yet I am building piece after piece my company. And this is partly due to Loic Le Meur and others likes him. Thanks for the motivation.
I wish that more people like Loic Le Meur would step up and help young generations by sharing their knowledge and their motivations. Thank you and Keep it up!

Same way… look at seesmic. The PR around it is pretty astonishing. I dare to say that the buzz around seesmic in the blogosphere is as big as the one for the iphone in the consumer market. (cf. twitter and the top blogs… looks like you need less than 200 users to make headlines) He sure did spend a lot of time building his network and his audience, I guess someday someone will analyze how he did that through the extensive use of podcast, blogging and networking. Curious to see if it will eventually work out or if it’s just a one time buzz.
